Sealogis Belgium brings new talent on board: welcome!

Due to the growth of its activities on various fronts, Sealogis Freight Forwarding Belgium has reinforced the troops with dynamic talents and insights. Meet Irmingard, Machteld, Nisrine and Keshia. Ready to conquer the maritime world!

Irmingard: great for putting freight forwarding on the right track

I received a warm welcome, says Irmingard Ajufoh. In May 2021, she joined Sealogis Freight Forwarding Belgium with a permanent workplace at Import Operations.

After a thorough two-month training course, she and her colleagues now independently manage their own client portfolio. She already feels completely at home. “I had some work experiences in the past where I felt like just a number. This is not the case at Sealogis. This company is the spearhead of a larger maritime group, but we have the friendly and close atmosphere of a family business.”

Irmingard enjoys her work. She helps customers with their sea freight, air freight and road freight. For her, the maritime sector knows no boundaries. “I like the variety of companies - whether chemical, agro or food - and the responsibility of managing it all. Due to the variety of customers, you learn a lot about shipping in all areas. I feel constantly challenged in this job, I need that.”

Machteld, strong in regulation

Machteld De Kock has been working as Import Forwarder since June 2021. She lives in Antwerp and can easily reach the Sealogis office by tram and a few minutes' walk. Machteld is no newbie to the expedition business as she brings 12 years of expertise from previous jobs with her.

Machteld arranges for overseas transport to ports such as Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam (sea freight, air, land, train, intermodal), consults with shipping companies, prepares the customs files, and so on. Complex cases do not deter her. She has a lot of experience under her belt and ensures that all import files run smoothly.

“A nice job, because the work is very varied. Every job is different. It is often a matter of communicating quickly and directly with customers about the status of their shipments. Following up each case well, being on the ball, that's what I like about it.”

“Agreed, the maritime world is different, but I feel like a duck to water. You have to have some feeling and understanding about it. A healthy amount of stress resistance is a bonus, because every file requires a different approach, and not everything is plain sailing

Nisrine: Logistics is my thing

With her training in Logistics and Transport, Nisrine Halawi is already an asset in the logistics department at Sealogis Belgium. She is all set to explore the world of logistics.

“In the Logistics department, we ensure that all incoming shipments reach their destination intact and accurate. We prepare outgoing shipments and keep track of shipping supplies. We assess and compare the transport costs of different suppliers, monitor shipments and ensure punctual delivery. The logistics world fascinates me enormously!”

Keshia: gaining experience in new sailing areas

With her Ghanaian background, Keshia Twum Berimah stands out at Sealogis Belgium. She is a brand new Inside Sales Executive and has experience with Key Account Management at a shipping company. At Sealogis Belgium she can also highlight her talents internationally and extend her expertise to new sailing areas. Speaking of a challenge!

Keshia is determined to shape the further growth of Sealogis Freight Forwarding Belgium with her sales colleagues.
